WHAT IS ILUMYA?
ILUMYA is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis who may benefit from taking injections, pills (systemic therapy), or treatment using ultraviolet or UV light (phototherapy).
Everyone responds to treatment differently, so individual results may vary.
ILUMYAis a biologic medicine, or “biologic.” Biologics are different from other treatments you may have used, like steroid creams, light therapy, and pills.
Are made using natural, living sources, such as human, plant, or animal cells
Target a specific part of the immune system rather than all of it
Block molecules that cause psoriasis to get worse
What can ILUMYA do for me?
ILUMYA helps people with plaque psoriasis get clearer skin and helps keep it that way.
Here is how ILUMYA helped people with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in clinical studies:
A majority of people had greater than 75% clearer skin after 12 weeks of treatment
7 out of 10 people had 75% clearer skin after 7 months of treatment
8 out of 10 people had 75% clearer skin after 7 months and were still clear after 1 year

How does ILUMYA work?
Advances in science have shown us more about how plaque psoriasis progresses—and how this progression can be stopped.
ILUMYA blocks an important molecule called IL-23 that causes psoriasis to get worse
When ILUMYA blocks IL-23, other molecules that cause psoriasis to get worse are also blocked
Blocking these molecules slows down the growth of skin cells
With less buildup of skin cells, there are fewer psoriasis lesions
How will I receive ILUMYA?
ILUMYA should only be given to you by a healthcare provider
If you miss a follow-up appointment and do not receive your dose of ILUMYA, schedule another appointment as soon as possible
ILUMYA is given as an injection under your skin (subcutaneous injection) in areas of your body such as your thigh, stomach area (abdomen), or upper arm.
